Artist Talk: Ann Kipling, Saturday July 18, 12 noon
Drawing on
its extensive archive of works by local, national and international
artists, the Douglas Udell Gallery presents Drawn
Our Way, a group exhibition featuring an eclectic
mix of recent and historical drawings. The exhibition includes
rarely seen works on paper by artists not normally identified
with drawing, along with images by artists more closely associated
with the medium. Recent drawings by ceramist Vic Cicansky, sculptor Joe
Fafard and painter Dorothy Knowles,
all prairie-based artists, appear alongside works by Vancouver’s Michael
Batty and acclaimed Okanagan drawer Ann Kipling.
Also featured are original works on paper by two of European
modernism’s
most influential artists, Pablo Picasso and Henri
Matisse.
