This group show features a wide variety of dynamic and exciting new works on paper by gallery artists. Vic Cicansky, Joe Fafard, Dominique Gaucher, Eliza Griffith, Keith Harder, Natalka Husar, Ann Kipling, Tim Okamura, Wilf Perreault, Tony Scherman, Andrew Valko and Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas will present new works created exclusively for the DRAWN festival.
The opening reception will include a talk by artist and lecturer Michael Nicholl Yahgulanaas. The originator of Haida-Manga, a distinctive and dynamic form that claims a new place in contemporary art practice for classic Indigenous northern Pacific design, Yahgulanaas will discuss the relationship between activism, history and artistic expression.
